Embrace Care is seeking an experienced and values-driven Retreat Manager to lead one of our most distinctive services — a purpose-built, activity-based retreat supporting children, young people and adults with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Needs.

This role offers a rare opportunity to lead a service where outdoor learning, movement, creativity and therapeutic engagement are central to care delivery. It is ideal for a senior care leader who wants autonomy, trust and the space to lead differently while still operating within strong governance and safeguarding frameworks.

About the Service

Our Chester retreat is a purpose-built site comprising six individual lodges, surrounded by open green space designed to support outdoor activities, sensory regulation and fun-focused therapeutic work.

The service supports individuals through structured, activity-led care, delivered by a skilled and passionate team who prioritise safety, engagement and positive outcomes.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Full leadership and operational oversight of the retreat service
  • Creating and sustaining a safe, inclusive and therapeutic environment
  • Leading, developing and motivating a team of activity-based support staff
  • Ensuring high standards in safeguarding, care planning and positive behaviour support
  • Embedding person-centred, outdoor-focused and strengths-based practice
  • Building effective relationships with families, professionals and partner agencies
  • Driving quality, consistency and continuous improvement across the service

What You’ll Need

  • Experience managing or deputising in a children’s or young adults’ care setting
  • Experience delivering or overseeing activity-led or outdoor-based support
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management – Residential Childcare

(or equivalent / working towards)

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and leadership capability
  • A creative, calm and confident leadership style
  • A genuine passion for therapeutic, open-air and engagement-focused care
